Today we were going to go snorkeling but the weather wasn’t the best.   So, we will wait till tomorrow it is supposed to be beautiful.

Super Bowl Sunday

Sunday is the Super Bowl and none of us really are fans of either team.  However, one of the local restaurants is putting on dinner specials and showing the game.  We decided to check it out for a bit, eat and leave around half time. The game was a decent game but the restaurant was so crowded we decided to leave at half time and watch the rest of the game on the boat.  That way it wouldn’t be too late getting back to the pups.

Snorkeling Day

The weather was beautiful when we woke up so we planned out our spots and pulled up the anchor.  Off we were to anchor a couple of islands down the chain from Stocking island.  Fowl Cay and Guana Cay are both known for a couple of really great snorkel spots so we head there first.  After that, we will work our way back to our anchorage at Sand Dollar Beach.

We also stopped at a channel marker that had a beautiful coral reef.  The snorkeling was really lovely.  Katie had a spotted ray bigger than her swim directly under her.  We, of course, brought our new Go Pro 7 with us and I have included it in the post at the end.  Unfortunately, we didn’t’ get the spotted ray on video.  In the middle of the snorkeling at the channel marker, we had an emergency.

One of our Dogs Izzy slipped off the boat and was swimming towards us.  Dave and I immediately headed to her.  Dave got to her first and we swam her back to the boat.  Between the two of us, we got her back on the boat.  She was pretty worn out.  This was her first major swim in the ocean on her own.  She and her sister Sadie had jumped into the dingy.  Sadie jumped back out of the dinghy back on the boat.  Izzy tried to do the same but missed the boat.  Luckily Katie saw her fall in and it all was ok.

After a great day snorkeling, we showered and headed out to find a new place to eat.  Everywhere we went we either couldn’t get into it or it was closed.  Back to the boat and Katie cooked up a tasty chicken curry rice dinner.  After dinner and a bit of chatting off to bed.  It was a long and fulfilling day.

Farewell

We got up early helped Katie get all packed up and headed into Georgetown to look at a couple of shops and grab breakfast.  After checking things out and eating the cab picked her up and she was on her way to the airport.  We really had a fantastic visit.  I really enjoyed our hike, snorkel and just hanging out.  It was hard to say goodbye but hopefully, she will be able to join us in Grenada or somewhere farther south later this year.

Cheers,

Jill
