Wow!  We are sailing over to Carriacou today!  This is where we will check into Grenada.  Can you believe we made it?  We have sailed this boat from Houston, TX.  We left the port of Galveston back in August and have traveled to many different countries all with the goal of sailing to Grenada for hurricane season.  What an accomplishment and exciting day.  It is a very short sail to Carriacou.  Once we arrive we will check in at Tyrell Bay.

We will hang around Carriacou for a couple of weeks or so for a couple of reasons.  1.  It is beautiful and the water and sand offer great playtime and snorkeling.  2.  There is the Carriacou regatta coming up and we want to check it out.

Exploring

After checking in we got the dogs off the boat and explored the area a bit. While we were walking around we could smell this delicious aroma of meat smoking.  We followed the smell and came upon this little spot called Big City Grill.  And guess what?  Their specialty was smoked ribs.  I can’t tell you how long it has been since we have had good smoked ribs.  Probably at our house the last time we smoked them before selling the smoker and the house.  We had ribs for lunch and they were amazing.  If you are in the area stop in and try them they are worth the stop.

Lunch stop

Over the next few days, we got laundry done, cleaned the boat and worked on a few things we had been needing to get done.  We received an invite to a pig roast on Sandy Island from a fellow boater.  Our boating friends have a blog and offer a charter for people who think about moving aboard a sailboat full time.  Great family, had a great time with them.  You can always learn more about them and what they do at www.sailingbritican.com

Tomorrow we will head over to Sandy Island to get a mooring ball and chill a day before the big pig roast.

Cheers,

Jill
