Well, after we left our friends in Carriacou Grenada we decided to make our way north.  This week is another Flashback Friday: Tobago Cays Marine Park.  On our way south we missed this area so we decided now was a great time to check it out.

Tobago Cays Marine Park

Tobago Cays is a small island marine park in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.  They have a turtle sanctuary along with some beautiful waters to snorkel and relax in.

On Petit Tabac island, they have an amazing beach BBQ lunch that you can get.  They cook up the fresh-caught lobster and fill you full of sides.  It can be a bit on the expensive side but it was something we decided to do.  The food was amazing!  The lobster was the best I have ever had, it had a parmesan crust on it, it was soo good.  As a matter of fact, all of the food was fantastic.  Another fact about this place is that a movie was filmed here.  This is the island where the desert island scene was filmed for the curse of the black pearl movie.  Part of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise.

After our feast, we decided to relax for the rest of the day.

The next morning we got up and headed over to the turtle sanctuary.  It was funny because at first all of the turtles seemed to be outside of the sanctuary.  We saw quite a few turtles but not much else was really in the sanctuary, it was kind of sad.  But it is always beautiful to see turtles in the ocean.  I have included a short video for you to see a few of the turtles.

Truly a great stop, we are so glad we decided to check it out.  If you get the opportunity it is a must-do in our book.  Enjoy a couple of photos from this stop as well.

Cheers,

Jill
