We arrived in Nassau early afternoon around 1:00 pm. We had a very nice flight and got through customs in a decent amount of time. When you walk outside the airport there are lines of Taxis waiting to take you wherever you need to go. We quickly found one and after negotiating a price we headed to the Palm Cay Marina where the charter company we used is located.

We rented the boat through the charter company Navtours. I am going to do a separate review post on our charter company and boat at the end of the trip. We were hoping our boat might be ready early, but we were prepared for it not to be ready until the check-in time of 4:00 pm. Upon arriving we were in luck the boat was almost ready. So, we headed over to the bar that sat right on the beach for a complimentary cocktail and an amazing view. Unfortunately, we were still carrying our backpacks on us and I couldn’t reach my camera for a picture of the beautiful view. Trust me it was beautiful, a great way to start the afternoon. Shortly after we finished our beverage they were ready for us to do our walkthrough on the boat. After taking care of that we put all of our belongings away and sat down for a beverage while we waited for our provisioning to arrive at the boat. We planned to eat most of our meals on board and visit the few restaurants that there are in the Exumas when we came upon them. In our research, we had read that there were 3-4.

The groceries arrived shortly after 6 which we checked over to make sure that we received all the items on our order. Next, it was off to dinner at the Marina restaurant where we had really great food.

Walking back from dinner you could start to see the stars, the breeze was plentiful and the temperature was perfect. We were so excited to be here!! It was a long day so, we sat up on the front of the boat for a quick drink and headed off to bed. Tomorrow would be another long day, we wanted to be ready for it.
