We got up and had a leisurely morning. Made breakfast and headed out of Zion around 9:30 am. Today we head to Las Vegas so our dear friends can catch a plane home in the morning. Time to say Farewell For Now! We have had such a fantastic week visiting Utah with them. Utah is a very beautiful place and we just barely scratched the surface. We will be back for sure.
Las Vegas
Before heading to our campsite we decided to take a little detour and do a chocolate tour. The Ethel Mars chocolate factory is just outside of Las Vegas and they were open for tours and tastings. We headed there and did the self-guided tour and then went into the shop and bought some delicious goodies. If you go to the factory the have items in their shop that don’t make the cut to get sent out but are perfectly ok to eat. They sell these items at a huge discount to their normal pricing. Great way to grab some extra goodies. They also have a cactus garden that you can walk through, it is very beautiful and interesting to see. This was a great stop. Back on the road to the campground.
We got a reservation at the Circus Circus Casino RV park. It is basically just a large parking lot with RV hookups but that worked just fine for us. After getting set up we went in to grab a bite to eat and check out the place a little. It was very quiet in comparison to what you would normally see in a casino. COVID has really affected this city. There was hardly anyone gambling or even walking around. Most of the restaurants were closed. We finally found a pizza joint that was open and stopped for lunch.
After lunch, we decided to float in the pool for a while and just relax. A great afternoon and evening. Got up early and got Jeff and Linda to the airport. What a blessing to have two of our best friends come and join us for a week on this adventure. We truly enjoyed having them and had a great time.
Time to head out of Vegas it is just too hot here in this parking lot.
