South West Allen Cay was a really neat stop.

Trying to make the most of our last night on the boat before we head back to the marina to return the boat. So, we left the Iguanas to check out Highborne Cay. There is a nice little inlet just outside the Highborne Cay Marina where you can anchor, but it fills up fast and is pretty shallow so you want to get here earlier if you want your pick on where to drop your anchor.
Once we got our anchor set and swam on it to make sure it was set we made a quick bite to eat and headed to the island to see what it was all about. We tied up our dinghy and took a walk around. Right away you see a really nice size fish cleaning station. There was a large boat cleaning a bunch of fish shortly after we arrived. When they would throw the carcasses in the water the seagulls, nurse sharks and we did see a couple of large Grouper would fight for each piece.  That was a lot of fun to watch.

Island Resort

The island has a cute little resort and a HUGE provision/gift shop. We didn’t actually need any provisions being it was our last night but it was great to check out what food they had and the prices. I thought the prices were going to be a lot higher than they were. They had a pretty good selection as well, we picked up a couple of beers and decided to walk around the island a bit. One thing we noticed behind the gift shop up on the hill looked like a beautiful open-air restaurant and bar overlooking the water. We decided to look around a bit first and then end up there for a happy hour.

The island is pretty and seems to be focused on the resort, but possibly some private homes as well. We didn’t walk as far as we had planned it was pretty hot and we were all pretty exhausted. So, we headed up to the restaurant/bar had some appetizers and drinks. It had an amazing view. After that, we headed back to the boat to start packing and watch the sunset from the front of our boat one last time.
