Sorry for the sporadic posts.  We have been having issues with our internet so I will post as much as I can.  Needless to say, I probably won’t be posting on Facebook like I had hoped.  Anyway, our first couple days weather was pretty wet.  Sunday we made it to Norman Cay and anchored and made dinner.  It was a pretty rough day so we just relaxed and played a couple games and were off to be early.

Little did we know we would spend Monday in the similar conditions making our way to Staniel Cay. The winds and the swells were similar not as intense as yesterday but still another wet day for us. This made our arrival to Staniel Cay all the more exciting. We were anxious to relax, dry off, and enjoy the beautiful teal waters with brilliant white sand beaches. There is a constant 365-degree view of pure bliss!   Places you see on postcards or on Pinterest, except we are here in that picture. Truly breathtaking!!

We arrived and motored over to the fuel docks first to get gas.  Once we had done that we took the boat over to pig beach.  Yep!  The whole reason we came here, and as we got closer and closer we didn’t see any pigs.  I was really worried after the deaths of the pigs a couple months ago that maybe they were gone.  We circled around and when another boat came right up to the beach all of these pigs ran out to greet them.  YEAH!!! they are still here.  As you may know, this was why we came here for my 40th birthday, to swim with the pigs!  I must say these pigs were really quite large and I was kind of nervous about it.  We anchored, had lunch and then got in the water and snorkeled around, we didn’t get any of the pigs to come over to us on this visit but we still had a great time.  The water is very shallow over in this area and not a lot of sea life.   The bottom is beautiful white sand which makes it look as if you are in the world’s largest pool.  It is truly remarkable all the different shades of blues and teals you see when you look at the water.

After our adventure snorkeling, we decided to move closer to the Staniel Cay Yacht Club.  We moved over and set our anchor.  We decided to get a shower and head in for some cocktails and to check out the Yacht Club and surrounding area.  We were able to get a place for dinner which we were lucky you usually have to have your reservations in by lunch.  We sat at the bar for a bit had a couple beverages and walked around the island a little to check out a couple grocery stores for a few items.  Cranberry juice is one as I was not feeling well.  The restaurant was amazing and the food looked delicious.  I was, unfortunately, to sick to eat mine so we took mine to go.  Everyone else really enjoyed their meal.  We decided we would come back tomorrow night and eat here again.  After that, it was back to the boat to relax and head to bed.  Tomorrow would be Thunderball Grotto and more snorkeling and adventures.  Here are a few pictures from the day.
